discovering the world

Sunday is blogging day. ^^

Not much of updates this week. I'm just surprised at how time flies. A blink of an eye and it's weekend again! Good. Shows that I'm getting used to working. :) The first week actually felt like one whole month!

And it's the end of November! Which means... pay day is here very soon! Heheheh...

Hmm.. what else can I share... oh yea I got to know my colleagues more... Haha... Naturally. After all, it's the 4th week already. What can I say, they're a bunch of interesting people! They make you gape, laugh and sigh in disbelief!

I guess God's allowing me to see how the world is like, before I really step out into the working arena next year. And you ask me, how is it like? I could only say... it's not a bed of roses. What a cliche == hahaha...

Well, more specifically. It's not exactly pleasant. It's a place without grace. It's a place where you have to depend solely on yourself because no one else could help you. It's a place where everyone fights to be the best, so much so that sometimes conscience doesn't matter, morality doesn't matter. It's a place where true friends are hard to find. It's a place where selfishness abounds. It's a place where material, money and status are prioritized over anything else.

It's a place where I'd find normal if God hasn't found me.

Last week my store manager suggested a game to push the sale. Whoever achieved a personal sales target of RM2,500 would be rewarded Juice Work, which cost around 7 to 13 bucks I guess. Because of the motivation, the whole store turned into a race field. Everyone was literally fighting for customers.

My hope of receiving the reward was nil. I only managed to sell a jersey top cost 39 bucks after hours. And I was pushed to the fitting room which was not my duty area at all. All because everyone else wanted to serve customers. It seriously didn't feel pleasant at all! But I heard a small voice within telling me, "Thank God when there're sales, and thank God where there isn't any."

That was like the hardest thing to do at that time. But I prayed silently in my heart and said, "Yes, Lord. I thank You even if I can't do any sales. But please, let my sales be at least 1,000 by the end of the day (so that it'd not be such an eyesore to the manager)."

And I suppose, like what my cell group leader has testified later, thanksgiving IS an energy booster, a faith pump, a spirit lifter. I wasn't so down after that. I suppose I was really submitting things into His hands instead of depending on my own effort.

And God sent an angel that night. A friendly, not-prominent-looking Indonesian lady came into the shop and got me to help her with a few garments. Only seconds later did I realize that she was a BIG buyer. She just walked around saying yes, I want this, and that too, and that as well... I don't know how much everything cost, but I knew that her one receipt sent my sales zooming to RM2,515 from around 1,600!

And by the end of the day when we closed the store, I was amazed to see that I could do more than 3,000 bucks in a single day! More accurately, I was amazed at how He worked the impossible!!

As a result...

I got my share of a large Juice Work...

And since they're doing promotion for their Peachy Christmas, it came with a gingerbread man! :)

It's really quite nice nyahahaha.. I must say it's a reward from God... for passing the lesson of the day: being submissive towards Him. ^^ Thank You Jesus!

Life is full of big problems. Thank goodness I have a bigger God. :)
