next sem~!

I'm going to add on just one more post before November ends... so that I have more posts in a month hahahahah...

Tomorrow am working morning shift so I must make this short and sweet.

Just registered for the next sem. Guess what I take for my co-curriculum activity: swimming! ==''' And the two lecturers-in-charge are guys it seems. Arrgghh... I don't know whether I'll regret or not later. Hahahah...

Well, it's a matter of learning something new. It's also a matter of keeping my promise to Caryn (coz I promised her that we'll learn swimming together during the last sem, which caused her to not register for the co-cu the previous sem....)! Sigh....

Hmmm... let's see if I'll change my mind during the add-and-drop week.

I can't wait to start our last semester. Studying is way better than working!!! :P

Oooh by the way, we're going to attend our very 1st cohort friend's wedding this coming Saturday!! Woohoo~~ congrats Nain & Aisha! Will update on Sunday! ^^

discovering the world

Sunday is blogging day. ^^

Not much of updates this week. I'm just surprised at how time flies. A blink of an eye and it's weekend again! Good. Shows that I'm getting used to working. :) The first week actually felt like one whole month!

And it's the end of November! Which means... pay day is here very soon! Heheheh...

Hmm.. what else can I share... oh yea I got to know my colleagues more... Haha... Naturally. After all, it's the 4th week already. What can I say, they're a bunch of interesting people! They make you gape, laugh and sigh in disbelief!

I guess God's allowing me to see how the world is like, before I really step out into the working arena next year. And you ask me, how is it like? I could only say... it's not a bed of roses. What a cliche == hahaha...

Well, more specifically. It's not exactly pleasant. It's a place without grace. It's a place where you have to depend solely on yourself because no one else could help you. It's a place where everyone fights to be the best, so much so that sometimes conscience doesn't matter, morality doesn't matter. It's a place where true friends are hard to find. It's a place where selfishness abounds. It's a place where material, money and status are prioritized over anything else.

It's a place where I'd find normal if God hasn't found me.

Last week my store manager suggested a game to push the sale. Whoever achieved a personal sales target of RM2,500 would be rewarded Juice Work, which cost around 7 to 13 bucks I guess. Because of the motivation, the whole store turned into a race field. Everyone was literally fighting for customers.

My hope of receiving the reward was nil. I only managed to sell a jersey top cost 39 bucks after hours. And I was pushed to the fitting room which was not my duty area at all. All because everyone else wanted to serve customers. It seriously didn't feel pleasant at all! But I heard a small voice within telling me, "Thank God when there're sales, and thank God where there isn't any."

That was like the hardest thing to do at that time. But I prayed silently in my heart and said, "Yes, Lord. I thank You even if I can't do any sales. But please, let my sales be at least 1,000 by the end of the day (so that it'd not be such an eyesore to the manager)."

And I suppose, like what my cell group leader has testified later, thanksgiving IS an energy booster, a faith pump, a spirit lifter. I wasn't so down after that. I suppose I was really submitting things into His hands instead of depending on my own effort.

And God sent an angel that night. A friendly, not-prominent-looking Indonesian lady came into the shop and got me to help her with a few garments. Only seconds later did I realize that she was a BIG buyer. She just walked around saying yes, I want this, and that too, and that as well... I don't know how much everything cost, but I knew that her one receipt sent my sales zooming to RM2,515 from around 1,600!

And by the end of the day when we closed the store, I was amazed to see that I could do more than 3,000 bucks in a single day! More accurately, I was amazed at how He worked the impossible!!

As a result...

I got my share of a large Juice Work...

And since they're doing promotion for their Peachy Christmas, it came with a gingerbread man! :)

It's really quite nice nyahahaha.. I must say it's a reward from God... for passing the lesson of the day: being submissive towards Him. ^^ Thank You Jesus!

Life is full of big problems. Thank goodness I have a bigger God. :)

oct-nov updates

Hi there I'm back!! I mean... in Blogger. Hahaha... After 1 month plus!! Gosh how could I leave my avid readers craning their neck waiting and waiting until all blooms have withered (等到花儿也谢了) hahahah just kidding... so perasannn!!! But truly I see the counter keeps going up, proves that there are a bunch of you out there who checks for my updates often ya!! *touched* TT

Hahaha okay enough 臭美-ing.

I guess for this post I'll just explain why I was MIA for so long.

As I was saying (like ages ago), I was looking for part-time jobs rite. Well initially Caryn and I settled for SEED and would start work in November, since 10++ others didn't respond to our application. They pay like RM5 per hour, no commission.

Then we're busy with the SEA Bread of Life Conference already from Oct 13-16 coz our church was hosting it, so there seemed to be no more time for other job interviews. But God was soooo GOOD all the time! On Saturday (which was the last day of the conference), we had a free afternoon, and Caryn and I were called for another job interview in TOPSHOP. And it went smoothly and tadaa... we're in! RM6 per hour, no commission as well. But that would add up a lot by the end of the month compared to SEED.

But dont think that we're rich ppl now la ya. There was always a catch to the RM6 per hour. Since we're working for 2 months only, we have to pay 50% of our uniform price, which should be given to us for FREE if we work for 3 months, and that's already RM100 gone! And I bought 2 other pairs of shoes just to work! 100 bucks gone again. Then have to dress up, accesorising... not mentioning transport and everything else. My poor baby has to come fetch us if we work noon-night shift. I really, really thank God for him, like seriously!!

Besides, we're working Mondays to Fridays only, devoting our weekends to church activities. My colleagues were shocked (like literally) to hear that we're church-goers. Hahaha.. coz they're like workaholics and 'clubbers' I think. And they're so much younger than me!! Mostly 18 to 20... like oh gosh!!

Anyway ya so this is what I'm doing currently. Working. Standing for 8 hours per day at least. My leg muscles growing more and more. Hahaha... Caryn said she FELT that she has slimmed down. Hahahaa...

Okay so let me rewind again and dump some photos here... if not I'll go on and on.

On 10.10.10, GA611 officially moved into our new land! Ya ya I know this was like ages ago...

A momentous day: the congregation walked together from the old place to the new prayer tabernacle!

Notice the crowd!

Rev. Esther gave a very moving speech and it was a time of paying attributes to God and all that He has done for us! At 10.10 am we entered the tabernacle and used it for the very 1st service! ^^ (weird that until now I still haven't taken a pic of the interior!)

After service we went for BBQ at Seoul Garden, Taman Desa... Yeah food again!

The side dishes + our BBQ beef with green vege... *tummy rumbling*

I ordered some octopus meal.. high in cholesterol. Sigh.

The family photo! I guess we can have this view again only in January '11 ya. :( Miss all the missing ones!

Karen came to visit over the weekend as well and brought us muffins made by a Kch 611 sister! Bee-yoo-ti-full~~ Thanks Karen. Sorry that I only managed to take pichas of muffins and not you. Hahahaha....

Then October 13th-16th was the conference, like I mentioned. An extremely, tremendously, exceedingly busy week! This was the only picture I managed to take. Highly anointed coz Rev. Joshua was the main character. Hahaha...

Then 1016 was our 6th anniversary. We had an outdoor buffet dinner after the 5-7pm service! No photos coz I was one of the food station leaders. Too busy running around dy... :P

The next morning Jong, Lubie and I took an early flight back to Kuching! Can't wait to see Mummy! Had breakie at KL Central Coffee Bean with Kevin-Jong.

Shared a breakfast set with him. Not too bad but my taste butt had yet to wake up so didn't taste it well.

Jongie's.. What's that again?

Kevin's burger...

Then the long flight... us sitting separately.. TT and the flight was not full at all!!

Lubie's ultimate aim of dropping by..

Niny~!!!!!!!!!! See how big girl she has become already!

My 2-week break was very fulfilling coz I spent most of the time playing with her. Hahaha... She's learning to walk by herself a lil', hold her own spoon and poke straws into packet drinks. Wow. Hahah.

And yeap, went to straighten my disastrous hair again at a new hairdresser's. She's real good! She made me look 10 years younger. Hahaha... coz a TOPMAN colleague actually guessed that I'm 13. :P

New-look auntie with Niny. Hahaha...

My last day with Niny... at the airport. Her mummy is growing prettier. Hahaha... and there went my break. I flew back to KL on Oct 31st and had to start work the next day! How nice was that!!?

No working pichas here. There's one but not that nice. Hahaha... I'll try to take some if I remember la ya..

And to Jong's and BeeGuat's attention: Caryn & I had done some long-awaited DIY hair coloring with Liese Bubble Dye! I tried the Marshmallow Brown.

FYI, this is the AFTER effect k, not before!! Do you see the color? NO~~~!!!

But with flash you can see a lil'... SIGHHHH~~~

The next day I experimented on Caryn's hair. She tried Chestnut Brown, which was supposedly darker in color. But because of my hair result, we left it 15 mins longer than mine.

She looked like the Simpson's mother right? Hahahaha...

And the result? More obvious than mine okay~!!? Angela noticed she dyed her hair but nobody asked me mine. TT So you guys know how the product is dy.. might as well go for the lightest shade since the outcome is so dark. But now all our hair color is getting lighter a lil'...

Okay it's 12am! I'm gonna wrap this up pretty soon.

Went for a real date with him after coming back for weeks!

Tried Jap restaurant Kissaten at Jaya 1.

You know me... food pichas cannot be missed! I had a grilled salmon set. Verdict: I don't like salmon. Or I plain dislike FISH. Very fishy. Hahaha... It came with all the sides: rice, steamed egg, miso soup & lobak jeruk, RM27.80.

Lubie's beef steak was disappointing, RM17.90. It felt like eating patties more. The portion was actually bigger than what you could see coz it had been snatched half by me. :P

And a pancake for dessert, RM4.90. Not superb and I think Pasta Zanmai beats this like ten times. So 3/5 for this.

Last but not least, we celebrated 3 birthdays:

Doreen's on Nov 9...

Lubie's on Nov 11...

And a belated one for Lucas & Lubie (Nov 10 & 11 respectively) as well as an advanced one for Zuzhang (Nov 22)! Oh ya, it's 12 dy! Happy birthday Zuzhang!!! The very 1st birthday as a daddy! I guess Ian-Ian is the best gift ever ya! May God bless you more and more! Thank you for being such an awesome spiritual daddy to us! I hope we have been good children. Hahaha...

And till then. I'll update again, peeps, hopefully. ^^ God bless you all!
